Our History Organization

Founded in 1968 by Raymond P. Elliott, P.E., MTC is a Michigan Corporation providing engineering, consulting and independent testing services in construction materials, soil mechanics and environmental matters. With our corporate office in Grand Rapids, Michigan and portable offices in remote locations, our region of service covers the State of Michigan.

Our operating departments include Construction Materials, Engineering, Environmental and Business with supporting departments of Geotechnical, Asbestos/ Lead Services, Environmental Remediation and Assessment, Construction Materials Field Services, Materials and Soils Laboratories, Non-Destructive Services, Human Resources and Accounting. With client satisfaction of paramount importance, our mission is to provide engineering, environmental and independent testing services with a high level of ethical and technical ability, striving to always impart value to our projects and a productive, meaningful and challenging work environment for our employees. We must operate at a reasonable profit within the competitive framework of the profession and actively seek both corporate and personal means of continuous improvement.

Our testing laboratories and corporate offices of 8800 square feet are equipped with a comprehensive line of testing gauges, equipment, computer network, communications center, vehicle fleet and mobile laboratories, offering thorough support to our clients, projects and staff throughout a broad geographic region of service. We are affiliated with MATECO, providing state-of-the-art environmental and geotechnical test drilling and contracting services. MATECO and MTC have effectively teamed together on thousands of projects since 1974.
